Anna Leigh Waters Wins Another Triple Crown at SXY Newport Beach Open as Ben Johns Nets Double Gold
It was business as usual again for Anna Leigh Waters as she bagged yet another Triple Crown, this time at the SXY Newport Beach Open to lead the tournament’s big winners. Longtime partner Ben Johns, meanwhile, continued to flex his dominant form, adding two more gold medals to his career haul.

MIXED DOUBLES FINAL: (1) Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns def. (10) Tina Pisnik and Eric Oncins, 11-4, 11-2, 12-10.
- Waters and Johns have never failed to win Mixed Doubles gold together in consecutive tournaments. That covers 66 tournaments since they joined forces at Desert Ridge in January 2022.
- Waters and Johns’s 60th title together and eleventh this season.

WOMEN’S DOUBLES FINAL: (1) Anna Bright and Anna Leigh Waters def. (3) Rachel Rohrabacher and Parris Todd, 11-4, 11-5, 11-3.
- Bright and Waters’ 19th title together and eleventh this season.
- Bright is now third all-time with 33 overall career Women’s titles.
- Bright and Waters had more Clean Winners, 21-9.
- Bright and Waters had fewer Volleys into the net, 20-10.
- Bright and Waters allowed only 32 points in 11 games in this tournament.

MEN’S SINGLES FINAL: (1) Hunter Johnson def. (2) Federico Staksrud, 12-10, 11-9.
- Johnson’s eighth career title and third this season.

WOMEN’S SINGLES FINAL: (1) Anna Leigh Waters def. (5) Lea Jansen, 11-2, 11-1.
- Waters 60th career title and ninth this season.
- Waters is 15-1 lifetime in finals against Lea Jansen. Her one win was in June 2021.
