Sofia Sewing Nets Triple Crown at Leapmotor APP Kuala Lumpur Open 2026, Phuc Huynh Wins All-Asia Men’s Singles Pro Final
Superstar Sofia Sewing showed why she is No. 1 on the APP Tour, scoring a Triple Crown at the inaugural Leapmotor APP Kuala Lumpur Open 2026. Asia’s best, though, were not to be outdone as Vietnam’s star, Phuc Huynh, and Hong Kong’s best, Jack Wong Hong-kit, battled in an all-Asia final in Men’s Singles.
Phuc Huynh Wins Men’s Singles Pro
In Men’s Singles, Phuc Huynh defeated Jack Wong Hong-kit, 11-3, 11-7, in a final that pitted two of Asia’s top male players against each other. Both had to fend off tough challenges in the semi-finals, with Phuc surviving Ryler DeHeart, 11-7, 11-13, 11-5, and Hong-kit beating Ronan Camron, 11-3, 11-8.
Camron beat DeHeart, 11-0, 11-2, to take bronze.
Sofia Sewing Rules Women’s Singles Pro
Sofia Sewing asserted her Women’s Singles dominance on the APP Tour with a 1-11, 11-6, 11-9 victory over Katerina Stewart in the final. To reach the gold-medal match, Sewing had to beat Amanda Hendry, 11-8, 11-4, while Stewart overcame Domenika Turkovic, 11-8, 11-5.
Hendry then outlasted Turkovic, 7-11, 11-3, 11-4, to round out the podium in the Women’s Singles Pro.
Jack Munro/Ryan Fu Win Men’s Doubles Pro Gold
The pair of Jack Munro and Ryan Fu ruled the Men’s Doubles Pro with an 11-8, 11-2 victory over the duo of Tanner Tomasi and Richard Livornese. Thomas Yu and Purple Jesus Manthou beat Ronan Camron and Zachary Marceau, 11-6, 9-11, 11-5, to secure bronze.
Sofia Sewing/Megan Fudge Win Gold in Women’s Doubles Pro
Sofia Sewing teamed up with another APP Tour superstar, Megan Fudge, to win her second gold in Malaysia with an 11-5, 11-9 victory over Amanda Hendry and Katerina Stewart. For bronze, Roos Van Reek and Shelby Bates beat Yu-Chieh Hsieh and Susannah Barr, 11-1, 13-11.
Sofia Sewing/Casey Diamond Net Mixed Doubles Pro Title
Sofia Sewing completed the Triple Crown after she and partner Casey Diamond survived a tough challenge from Richard Livornese and Megan Fudge, 11-5, 8-11, 11-9, to take gold. The pair of Jack Munro and Roos Van Reek dominated Andre Millet and Susannah Barr, 11-3, 11-2, to win bronze.
